Artist Statement

Jay Maisel said, “If you’re really lucky, you can structure your work, on rare occasions, to where you’re doing exactly what you would like to do. Which is to wander around, blindly looking for things, without any preconceived notion. That’s the way I like to do it.” Regardless of whether or not I have an idea for the image I want to capture, it is important to have an open mind. Opportunities to capture or create something unique are always there and preconceived notions can hinder ideas that may arise.
